
Dr. Aarti Mehta-Kroll
Dr. Aarti Mehta-Kroll is the Assistant Director of the Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab. An urban sociologist by training, her research focuses on how communities resist gentrification and the relationship between territorial stigma and place disruption. She is co-leading a project titled “Documenting Goombay and Little Bahamas of Coconut Grove” funded by the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, she I worked in higher education as a Community College Transfer Coordinator, Undergraduate Academic Advisor and Program Coordinator.
