The iWitness + LACC Global Borderless Caribbean Series shines a spotlight on the essential work of artists tackling some of our democracy's most pressing challenges: immigration, climate crisis, disenfranchisement, human rights, and more in Latin America, the Caribbean, and their ripple effects across the U.S. and the globe.
This collaborative series goes to the heart of the iWitness: IPC Institute of Visual Journalism at FIU’s central mission: to (re)engage visual journalism as a means of pursuing knowledge and truth-telling within our (de)evolving democracy. iWitness foregrounds the visual narrative to investigate issues impacting democracy in Latin America, the Caribbean, and its Global Diasporas. This is a collaboration between the Iris Photo Collective, the Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab at FIU, and the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC).
