On January 21, 2024, the Miami Beach Bandshell hosted a spectacular and free folk music festival featuring renowned artists such as Bonnie Prince Billy, the Miami Sound Choir, Inez Barlatier & Jan Sebon, and Stillblue. The inaugural Folk Festival, presented as part of Miami Beach Arts in the Parks, was produced by Rhythm Foundation, FIU Wolfsonian Humanities Lab, and in collaboration with WLRN-FM's weekly Folk and Acoustic Music Program.

The event was a night filled with soul-stirring melodies and diverse musical expressions, successfully celebrating the rich folk traditions that make Miami a musical diversity. It was indeed a harmonious gathering of communities, bridging cultural connections through the universal language of music. This will be an annual collaborative event.
