The Secret Life of Plants

By Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab

"The Secret Life of Plants" was an exhibition, curated by Carl-Philippe Juste and featuring the works of artist Catherine Hollingsworth consisting of stunning botanical illustrations and thought-provoking videos. Inspired by Stevie Wonder's album "Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants," the exhibition explored the connection between plants and human experiences, highlighting their roles as reflections of change, providers of medicine, and keepers of our hearts and consciences.

The opening of "The Secret Life of Plants" at IPC ArtSpace brought the community and FIU faculty together. It featured a captivating discussion between Carl Juste and Catherine Hollingsworth, and an afternoon of drinks and discussion with esteemed guests from across FIU departments:

  • Whitney Bauman
  • Mitzi Carter
  • Brenna Kays

It was a memorable experience that highlighted the power of art to foster connections and inspire meaningful conversations about art, nature, and humanity.
