On March 28th, 2024 the "Zorita Takes Miami" exhibition opened at the Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library. The evening was marked not just the unveiling of a remarkable exhibition but also a celebration of the bold and defiant life of Zorita. The diligent research and thoughtful presentation of Dr. Julio Capó Jr. brought to life the story of this iconic burlesque dancer, illuminating her contributions to LGBTQ+ history and her fearless challenge to societal norms during the mid-20th century. We thank Capó and Stonewall for their dedication and willingness to create such a beautiful, enlightening experience that honors Zorita's enduring legacy and highlights the vibrant history she helped shape.
